I have been into Aircooled VW's as long as I can remember and bought my first beetle before my 18th birthday. When I bought it it had a busted rear and the engine was running badly but new sparkplugs fixed that. After a year or so I lowered it, at the front to 2 cm above the road, at the back two notches. At July 23rd 2000 after much thinking I've put my beetle to sleep!!! Rust had taken away so much of the fetal parts that restoring it is not possible at the moment. So I've thrown away everything except for the chassis and suspension. Click on the button Karmann to see some photo's of my Ghia. Just found a new nose for the Ghia and some other body parts, so know I'm getting somewhere! I'll post pictures as soon as possible! On Sunday the 10th of August 2003 I had an accident with the Notchback. Damage is so bad that fixing it was not an option. Because I also have a son since 31st of July 2003 I've bought a 1970 Squareback (for the space!). I've sold my beetle to a friend of mine. So I'm looking for a fun project again! This time I'm thinking about building me a mid-engine sandtamer. The Variant I've traded for a 1970 T2a Pick-up!
